Update: yesterday we went over to my grandparents to have a nice breakfast before we left Arizona. And they surprised me with a gps for Xmas!!! My grandpa had already plugged in our route to Iowa, so we were set to go :) I decided to name her Martha, it just seemed fitting :)
We left my grandparents around eleven to start our journey. But..we didn't make it too far. We stopped to get gas in New Mexico, and when we tried to leave the jeep wouldn't start. It kinda sounded like it was flooded sooo we waited and tried again, but nothing. Then we thought it was a vapor lock, but quickly ruled that out. After a few more tries we decided to push it to a parking spot. Then came the fun...trying to find a taxi, a motel, a reliable mechanic, and a game plan. I was under the hood trying to check the fuses in the dark when a nice man came and tried to help me out. He thought it was the fuel pump and offered to give us a ride to a motel :) After being stranded at the gas station for 3 hours a motel sounded incredible, so we accepted. His wife assured us they weren't creepers :) They were super nice..very thankful we met them.
So here we sit. The jeep got towed this morning and we're waiting to see how soon the shop can get it in. A huge snow storm is coming tomorrow, so hopefully we are able to leave by Tuesday. As long as we are home for Christmas I'll be a happy camper.
